okay so i got this 93 civic the other day and when u turn the car off and take the key out the ****** cd player is still workin.....how the hell does that happen??? if anyone knows wuts up then please tell me thanks guys

if its aftermarket it might not be wired up correct. pull the deck and check the wiring, if its correct, meter your acc. wire to verify if its holding 12v ( as you say it is) when the key turns off, if so problem is in the car, if not problem is in the deck.

 

someone probably wired it so it gets constant power. what you have to do is pull the radio and if i remember correctly snip the red wire and connect it to a acc. wire which is only on when the ignition is on.

 

does it stay on for like 5-10 seconds or does it permently stay on. My friend once wired his stereo with a larger gauage wire so when he turned his car off the stereo stayed on for 5-10 seconds and then it would shut off.

 

I had a Power Inverter that would keep the radio going after I turned the car off sometimes...
