Default vtec pressure switch

How common is it for the vtec pressure switch to go bad? I got roughly 50K on it, and it seems to stop working. Any suggestions on how to trouble shoot to see if it's faulty? Tried to search for it, but no luck.

TIA

download a helms manual and find out what the voltage is supposed to be. Then test the voltage with a mulitmeter.

its only a swith, so measuring it with resistance. should be open with no presure and closed when presure applied.

they can get clogged and can go bad, check wiring as well

Thanks.

I checked wiring, and that seemed to have been a problem. The OBDI - OBDII harness seemed to have poor connection, so I jumped it. But now I'm getting a CEL. Code 22, so I"m thinking that the solenoid is goiing, or the connection from the ECU to the solenoid isn't good..as with the pressure switch, and perhaps the oil pump is going, or gone. I don't have a oil pressure guage to check this at the moment.

Thanks for the comments.
