What are you SFWD guys doing for insurance?
I am looking for insurance for my car but am having a hard time finding someone that is willing to insure it for a stated amount or that won't screw me if I ever have to make a loss claim. I am just curious who you guys are going through to protect your investment or are you just insuring your cars as unmodified.

Insurance is going to be a pain if you try to cover all items once they know it's purpose. Even if you do keep reciepts and submit a valid claim, they will never cover you again.
Liability $30 a month and save your money in case something happens.

I'd kick whoever called your insurance in the nuts!!!
Progressive said they would take me but the rate is ridiculous. Not so much because of the monthly charge but the fact that if there is a loss claim they still get to "decide" how much they want to pay back. Even if I provide reciepts they said they will still reserve the right to give me the blue book value of the car if that is what the claims representative chooses, hence making it pointless to take a stated value claim out in the first place.

If you need ins just to cover your car for stated amount. Do a search under my name for creator and in the drag forum and I have a bunch listed. My problem is I need ins that will cover me for driving on the street. None of those listed in my thread will cover you for that.

i dont know how it works there, but in NC if the state will allow you a license and a license plate then they cant drop you. And since most companies wont cover a car being used in a "timed event" i dont see why they would even care that you are racing it.

They won't take you if you tell them that you are racing the car. Also they'll deny the claim if it occurs and is reported on a race track of any type.

i thought the nhra had some sort of insurance to cover damage on the track ? or am i way off ? is it for the driver only, not the car... meanin the nhra will help cover medical bills should something spectacular occur ?

If I remember correctly NHRA will cover medical bills up to a certain amount of money 100K or 500K I forget which one it is. You have to be a NHRA member though.

I was speaking to the person who was talking about Progressive. There may be some other company that will offer the coverage.
