Default Battery relocations (not the trunk)

Anyone know where i could find a kit or write up for the repositioning of the battery in the engine bay. I know this can be done but i haven't been able to fine any write ups or info on HT.

edit: i still looking it up, it think its called tucking the battery, anyone know i can't find any specifics

i dunno about tucking

but why don't you just buy a slim battery. you can put those almost anywhere or free up some more space where the battery currectly is

odessy is one of them.

i hope you don't run alot of electrical stuff other than normal. because some lightweight / slim batteries are for racing apps and less cranking power.

i was thinking about the odyssey battery but after doing some reading i found that people are having trouble on daily driver cars. people were saying that they die easier than normal size batteries and have to be jumped all the time. just a little FYI...

Interstate Batteries stores carry Hawker Odyssey batteries.

I have one mounted where the under-hood fuse box normally goes. I bought a small battery tester/charger to keep it the battery up to speed because it does die easier than a normal battery, leaving your lights on for a little while kill it. It probably also would not work if you have a stereo any bigger than stock.

It does start the car just fine, though.

What about STINGER? Anyone using them? Are they more reliable than the odyssey? They are smaller and lighter than stock also, but designed by a car stereo specialty company? Anyone?

i removed all the old battery mounting junk and just use an integra battery and droped it down right infront of the tranny, and built a box for it. so now it sits BELOW the frame rail height and is still in the engine bay. i did all the fab myself so cost me nothing other than a integra sized battery. fits even with plety of room next to the radiator.

it sits right next to the frame rail partly on the very front cross member and right next to the raditor.

stinger are highly reliable batteries. Alot of the car stereo suppliers in the 801 switched from selling optima to stinger because of better quality and reliability.. I myself soldmy red top optima and got a stinger and have never looked back.. maintence free. etc.. thats just my 2 cents.

That sounds like the better way to go for me. I'm not really liking the though of needing a jump every now and then. i like to listen to music with the car not running at the wash. would you be able to do a small write up on that

Hey.. i repositioned my battery and made all my own cables... it was easy.. pretty cheap.. and didnt have run lines all the way to the trunk!.. .here are pics....

I bought an autozone battery mount... mounted it to subframe... then used 2 pieces of hand-crafted alumunum pieces... (like 9 degree bends) and when its tightened it presses against battery.. so it doesn't move at all!!!

couple pics.. although doesnt' help too much sorry
