lol, yeah you need a VTEC ECU in order for VTEC to engage. That should solve your problem. Look for a P2P ECU

if you dont have the money to buy a ecu you can always put it on a switch take the solinoid wire it is the one running to the top of the vtec solinoid and cut that get a switch put pos and neg on the switch and put the vtec in the acces spot mount it and boom got vtec whenever you want
almost.... but the effects are not the same, when vtec kicks it does a bit more than trigger the solenoid, if i understand the system right. so a "vtec switch" is a poor idea, get a part time job and do it the right way, you'll be more pleased with your results
