98 Accord will crankr - WONT start
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have a 1998 Honda Accord EX V-6 111K Miles. Haven't replaced water pump or timing belt as of yet. However, this is the third time I've had a problem getting my car started.
At first, I thought it was because I was leaving it sit for extended days at a time and perhaps water got into the gas tank or gas line. Or someone suggested the battery may be going bad. I found that pouring fuel injector cleaner into the gas tank remedied the problem... but an ASE Tech suggested that the fuel injector wouldn't even circulate until the engine was running?? He said cycling and running the battery is what made it finally start.
My spark plugs are fine. Gas line seems fine. If it was the battery, would it be able to power up all the instruments, and power utilities in the vehicle?
This time, I haven't let it sit for days. The engine just wont fire. It has been raining the past couple of days and remains parked outside... PLEASE HELP!!!

Yes, all the lights can work, but still not have enough power to start the car. However, if the car is cranking over, then it's not your battery. There are 2 essential things you need to check for first... Are you getting spark? And are you getting fuel?
What I mean is, you need to pull a spark plug, reconnect the wire, ground the plug, and actually look for the spark. By "getting fuel", you should start with things like, can you hear the fuel pump turn on and prime when you turn the key to "ON", etc.

When you try to start it does it just make a "click" noise?
My car (98 4cyl ~100k miles) did not start one day so I tried to jump start it, but to no luck. I took the battery to get it tested and it was fine. After doing some research I found that it was probably a bad starter. It was not sudden though. There were a few times within the last 15k miles that I had to turn the key a few times before it would start. I replaced the starter and its been fine since.
