Default I think ive been stiffed :S (b18c)

ok guy i'm really needin help here, i bought this motor of a guy which he says it is a b18c,but i cant tel tell if it is a b16 or wht, (engine code is grinded off it ) so ive stripped it down to the bare block, i have pr3 pistons and rods, head says p72-2 (obd0,1,2?)and cam shaft pulley's say's pr 3 also, how can i tell wht i actually have??? b18c? or some crap all jst put together? cheers guys much appreciated

Hey i'm on my other user name now lol, are u defo sure? i have the wrong ecu n every thing for it not lookin good. is there no way u can tell by casting marks on the block , cause i was thinkin i could be a b18c but with b16 runnin gear in it? or is tht not possible?

If the rods say PR3 and when you took off the head the pistons were in line to the deck height. I believe the rods would be too short to make enough compression in a B18 block to actually run. Just like what weaksquad said, you have a b16 bottom with a GSR top. I'd say try to get your money back for that torque-less POS

just look at the water pump side.. easiest way to find out. if the block surface is about 1/2 inch taller than the top of the water pump, then its a b18 block. if the surface of the block is level with the top of the water pump, then its b16a.. hope that helps

There's a good chance the engine is stolen if the marking are ground off. If you knew this before u bought it shame on you. If not rhen don't pay attention to my post.

pr3 rods means b16 crank or pistons sitting low in the block.
