Testing for quaife gear in manual rack
I pulled my stock rack off for this rebuilt with shortened ratio gear, and teste both off the car. I counted the amount of turns the part that bolts into the U joint on the steering column it takes to go from lock to lock. Both were exactly the same... 4 turns. Did I get ripped off, or is this not a proper way to test?
thanks. the guy I bought it from insists that its shortened ratio. I bought a GSR rack that I will loop I geuss, unless I can somehow find out if its indeed shortened.
the rack is assembled, I just bought an assembled rack from the guy. So I was planning to just throw it in.
What do you mean by counting gears? That requires disassembly right?

thats exactly what I thought. The guy insists its not. Sucks. I geuss I'll run the Integra rack. Its actually shorten then quaife anyway right?
