Default LS Rebirth

I am coming from a 94 LS vtec automatic (JDM GSR head).

After starting my car a couple days ago, the engine wined, gurgled, then popped. Since I havent driven it in 2 years, I am willing to take this car piece by piece and making it a completely new car. I am in love with my Gun Metal Paint with my JDM front end, so this is a car Im willing to put some money in.

I am starting with the motor

Right now I am looking into purchasing a bare block and motor, and just strictly replacing EVERYTHING. I am planning on keeping it automatic, so I am probably going to stick with LS Supercharged. Here is the setup I am planning on using.

LS Head
Crower 403 Cams
Crower Dual Spring
Crower Ti Retainers
Crower Oversized Intake/Exhaust Cams

LS Block
Wiseco RollerWave Pistons (anything thing I can do to make fit for b18b?)
Eagle Rods

I am thinking of going with a JRSC, but I heard that the stock stall converters cannot handle the torque, so can anyone recommend something that can hold this amount?

Also, I am planning on cleaning out my engine bay. Any recommendations on what I can get rid of?

I am pulling my old motor next week, this is basically my fall project.

For winter, I am planning on tearing out stock ls seats and throwing in some GSR leather seats. Will GSR leather door panels fit my interior?

For spring, I am planning on working on the brake/suspension system.

What Im trying to do here is basically build a new car overall. I am not going for the whole street racer thing, I just want a car with a decent amount of power, smooth/comfortable ride, and a little bit of luxury.

I would really appreaciate the replies guys. Any advice would be highly appreciated.
To those that are going to tell me to just buy a new car, dont even bother. This isnt just going to be my car, its going to be my project.

Thank You

You're not going to make an automatic LS fast. There was a guy claiming 11 sec. 0-60 times for his auto DC4 in this forum not too long ago. But if you're dead set on it, look into obtaining an auto sir-g tranny or possibly the entire swap.

Hey thanks man. Would you recommend any places I can get the full B18c SiR-G swap? I wouldnt mind going in that route. Right now Im just trying to get an idea on what path I should take motorwise. That is why I posted this, thank you. I believe this is the same ecu and head I had on my old motor. 4 door jdm gsr right? If it is, thats how I did the auto ls vtec. I would just go ask local shops like Whip Factory , but I want to see if the HT guy can help me out and find some deals.

Thanks for your reply

Yeah I dont think the ls auto tranny can take alot of abuse. My buddy had a ls with all the bolt ons and a 65 shot. Mess the tranny up and had to get it rebuilt.

I recomend rebuilding the tranny as a must.

Okie, you guys just changed my whole thought process on this. Thank you though, this is the kind of input I was hoping for. I am now shopping for a B18c SiR-G motor and ECU.

With the transmission, can you guys recommend any companies that sell after market products for my stock transmission? I guess the rebuild would be a lot cheaper.

Thank You

Not flaming you for wanting an auto, but is there any special reason you don't want a 5spd?

In terms of power/speed, the auto will always be slower.

Ebay has em for 2000- 2500 shipped. Be very wary of any motor you get on ebay, as opposed to a reputable company like hmotorsonline.com. Head over to the hybrid forum and check the swap company faq atthe top of the page if you want some more options.

I used to love racing and going fast. But now, when I drive, I just like to sit back and relax while smoking a fatty. Also, as Im getting road head, I like to have my left hand steering and my right hand on the girls head.

My goal with my car is also to have that luxury feel. That is why Im going to throw in the GSR leather seats and panels. DC2's have always been my dream car, I loved vtec and the body of it. That is why I want the ***** of hooked up car, but the comfort and relaxation of a luxury. Im doing everything from power fold in mirrors and heated seats (if I can find them).

Imagine seeing a clean gunmetal JDM Integra, looking inside and seeing that its auto. I know most of you would laugh or hate on it, but when the hood is popped, you are going to notice the vtec and supercharger. Im not trying to win races, Im just here to make my car meet my personal preferences.

So any help really appreciated

Thanks for the heads up on the hybrid section.

Since Im basically putting together this motor piece by piece, I am going to start with the head. Im picking up a complete GSR head tomorrow.

After doing the kind of research I shouldve done in the first place, I am going with Buddy Club Spec III's. Beside going with the Buddy Club valve train, is there any other valve trains that you guys can suggest?

Thank you

Alright fu*ckers
Just got head (GSR style!!)

Photos coming soon

Anyone suggest keeping those bolts for the cam caps?
Also, I did my search on head job places, and I come up with Eagle Racing and FlowPro.

Yea, Yea Yea, Those places are great but also expensive.
Balla with a budget guys

Anyone know any places in the midwest? King motorsports is a little too much for me. I dont have a driveable car in my favor. Any machine shops around downtown Chicago?

Im pretty excited with this stuff

Good luck with it all.. Now that you have a head what type of block are you looking for? And as for shops you could probably get some hints in the marketplace midwest forum!
