Default Wheel Hop With Drag Radials?

i have been thinking about getting drag radials cause i have heard that you get less wheel hop if any at all with them. i dont understand how if you have more grip you would have less wheel hop? so is it true that there will be less wheel hop with the tires.

drag radials can hook better then street tires that is for sure, but as far as wheel hop i think wheel hop will get much worse when it happens causing things to break, keep that in mind

good luck

I picked up some BFG's a few months back and my wheel hop disappered soon as I got them on, I think its down to the soft sidewalls drag radials have compared to road tyres....

BFGs will take away most of your spinning problems...do slicks for the track though

Only time I've ever had wheel hop was with some 235/60/15 MT et street drag radials. It wheel hoped one good time in the water box then it finally starting spinning good.

I run 225/50/15 bfg drag radials on a daily basis and never have seen any wheel hop. I'm about to change over to the 235's for my DD tire, SO, I'll see if i get any wheel hop on the street with the MT's.

i would love to get slicks for the track but am afraid i wont have enough power to spin them. the smalllest i could find were 22's. btw its a gsr motor with bolt ons. i figured if i got drag radials that it would be good for the street and also be great at the track but i was just worried about wheel hop. last time at the track all i did was wheel hop and was on all season hankooks. i believe most of it was from the stock mounts and i have since switched to hasport streets so i am hoping for better results. i just figured that if i got wheel hop on street tires i would get worse wheel hop with drag radials. thanks for the help.

if your geting wheel hop on street tires on the street u will be alot worse with dot drags. due to the fact that u wont have power for the drags. the reason your getting wheel hop now is cause u aint making no power power spins tires. wheel hop is normally when your on the edge of the tires griping limits or your drive train has 2 much play. but agian if your hoping on the street more than likely you just aint making power, drags will hurt u more

i dont get wheel hop on the street but when i was at the track i had extremely bad wheel hop which i am guessing because of how sticky the track was.

@9psi wheel hop went away and my friend was able to run 11.7 @ 125 on 225/50/15 drag radials. His 235/60/15 BFG's seem to have more issues w/ wheel hop.

well if your trying to avoid this radial drags increase the chances of things breaking. dont be expecting to get 1.6 60fts with dot drags it just aint going to happen. u need slicks for that. its all part of racing. if u aint breaking **** u aint racing.
