just discovered through the compression calculator at zealworks, that a d17a1 head gasket is just as thin as a d16y8 gasket with the middle layer removed. will this headgasket fit on our 1988-2000 dseries? im asking because im sure they are designed differently as the intake manifold wont even swap over from a d16- to the d17s. i thought this was a good alternative rather than removing the middle layer in the first place to increase cr alittle.
