Well, today, I was driving and my stereo turned off, needles on the gauges fell, then ABS, Battery, etc. indicators light up (as if turning on the ignition when starting the car), stereo comes back on, and I don't have an idea of what it could be, except maybe the alternator.

She's a '92 GS-R w/ just over 60K (read: original) miles. Any ideas or help are greatly appreciated.

Do you have a strut bar thats touching the batter? both the neg and positive? because my friends celica had that problem and it was because of the strut bar.

 

Most likely either a poor or loose battery terminal connection or a failing ignition switch.

 

Check ur grounds, especially the thermostat ground, make sure they're all on there nice and tight! And what perfectionist said too, check the battery terminals, also check for corrosion, hopefully it's one of these cause these are easy fixes. Check everything than let us know.
