Default hard to shift?!

ok so about a couple days ago i was driving and was noticing a difference in my shifting. it's become harder and harder to get into gear while driving. now it actually takes a lot of muscle to get it into the gear. it is hardest 1-3rd. any ideas on why that's happening?

thanks

Yea check the fluid level in the clutch MC reservoir and check around it and the clutch hardline for leaks.

Is it easier to shift when the cars on, or off? Or does it do the same regardless, if it's harder to shift when the car's on, then it's most likely clutch related. Also, when's the last time U've changed ur tranny fluid? Is it grinding when u shift or just takes more effort?

Had it happen to me, spring in my clutchdisc was coming out.

it is kinda a little bit of all of that. it's a breeze when the cars off, with the clutch in and out, and on it doesn't grind much, but mostly it just takes some muscle to get it into gear, but every now and then it will grind and fall out of gear when i'm trying to switch. and as for the tranny fluid, i think i'm getting it checked out tomorrow so i'll mention your guys' ideas and see what happens....now what is all this talk about a master, MC, and slave? i don't know transmissions for crap so if you could put it in laimens terms that would be helpful.

Syncromesh won't help if you the clutch is going out. When was the clutch replaced if ever?

yep same here, after I redlined 2nd gear one night, it suddenly got real hard to shift on me. Pulled the clutch out (original one) and found metal pieces around the spring had broken off and I guess it wasn't disengaging fully.
