MY brother keeps telling me I should get a Venom chip for my LX. Said it will give me up to 25% more power. The funny thing is, I've been on honda forums a while and never heard anyone talk about these things. Does anything need to be beefed up when adding this chip or what?
What's the deal on Venom chips and where can I get one for a decent price?
Thanks

It's a piece of ****. It makes the engine think it's at WOT when it's really just at half throttle.

Yes that is exactly what it does. It tells your computer to give maximum fuel and spark(like it does at WOT) at like 60% throttle. This will do NOTHING in the quarter mile, because your throttle position is at WOT the whole time. I do believe that on the venom site, they dynoed the car a partial throttle and it made a horse or two. A real performance chip modifies the fuel and spark curve from closed throttle to WOT, therefore it increases horsepower. The venom 400 is a pure waste of money. You could probabally get the same results by wallowing out your throttle position sensor and retarding its position. this would make the computer "think" that it is at WOT before it is. Either way you will not see any performance in the long run, maybe some loss in gas mileage.
