I found this in the Type R forum, https://honda-tech.com/zerothread/1734378

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Dave_B &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">It's referring to a rod bearing. When you put in new bearings on the crank end of the rod, the bearings are "clipped" to the rod. There is a small groove on both the rod and the bearing to keep the bearing from spinning. The crank itself spins as the motor turns as does the rod (sorta) and the bearing is between the two surfaces, but stationary in/on the rod. When you spin a rod, that bearing "spins" instead of staying in place. HTH and isn't to confusing. If you need better definition, send me a PM and I'll see if I can dig up some pics for you. </TD></TR></TABLE>

Poor clearances, stretched rod bolts caused by overrevs, oil contaminants, oil starvation.

ok but missing a gear only lets one rev while in neutral isnt it?

Miss a gear as in going to a lower gear instead of a higher one. If you were already at or near redline, then your engine will now shoot way past redline. The rev limiter works by interrupting spark. It can't do **** in this situation.

Same thing pretty much.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Baron55 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">well, if the oil pump failed...could that be it also...? But, are integra oil pumps known to fail???</TD></TR></TABLE>

So is this, having the pump fail, worse then having little to no oil though,
You can fill up with more if it's low, but if the pump goes in the middle of somewhere,
and you don't catch it then .. that would be painful for your motor.
