Anyone know what the back seat assembly out of an EG weighs? Thanks!

 

seat backs = 21.5 with rear carpet
lower cushion = 8.5

all the rear seat belts = 25-30

 

man, are you sure its that much?

people have been saying that removing rear seats and seatbelts has only netted them ~20lbs total.

I don't think it's quite that much, are you sure? The lower cushion hardly weighs anything at all, it's just foam. If it is that much, I need to put my Si on a diet.....tonight!

 

I weighed them as I posted. I happen to have them out out the car and laying in the spare bed room.

I also removed the rear seat belts totally.

my stock CX rear seat backs--- 6lbs without carpet. weighed about a month ago.

i have NO idea how anything would weigh 20 pounds for just those seatbacks.

 

6 lbs each? times 2 plus carpet????

BTW I was using a digital scale

 

im sure all together (seat cushion and backrests with seatbelts) dont weigh more than 25lbs, worthless imo

im sure someones gonna come on and say well thats 25lbs i woudnt save without taking em out

 

The way you put that the seat belts weigh 25-30? I assume that's just worded badly and EVERYTHING together weighs 25-30??

 

I'm taking em out more for the storage space (I'd like to fit my bike in there) than the weight savings, was just wondering exactly how much weight I'd be taking out...

 

I hope you are right, cause then I'll feel like I gained something from gutting my interior.

There's no way the seatbacks weigh onyl 6 lbs. as someone else said. Just picking them up together shows you that they've got SOME weight to them.

I'm kind of confused on the seatbelts thing too. How much did all the seatbelt stuff weigh - just the seatbelt stuff?

I know after you get the bucles and those big-*** rells that hold all of the belts that it does weigh a good little bit, but did you mean 20lbs. or so?

 

yes, there is SOME weight to them....6lbs per each seatback, minus carpet. pick them both up...that's 12 pounds. i have no reason to lie about this....these were my stock gray vinyl 92 CX seatbacks...no carpet attached. i guess my scale could be off. i weighed my 91 Si rear seat rests.....9lbs per each seatback, minus carpet attached. what could be different about the seats? they're the same size, i have an EF SiR rear seat in my EG and it fits perfectly

 

ALL the rear seat belt assembly including what I removed from the rear hatch area, weighed 25-30 lbs ALONG with the 30 lbs of the rear seats (upper and lower).

I removed ALL rear seat belts and bolts.

55-60 lbs GONE!

And then the 13-15 lbs I lost by selling the rear speakers + factory kit.

I lost 75 lbs total.
