I have a 1988 honda crx with a b18 swap and a gsr tranny and it wont start. I drove it for like a half hour and it started bogging out with loss of power in all gears. So i pulled over and now it wont start at all. I need some help, ive already replaced fuel pump, fuel filter, spark plugs, and main relay.

Ive checked and made sure that theres spark, and fuel to each injector, the only thing i can think of that i havent checked is timing and i cant see it just going out all the sudden. any comments would be appricated.

check your thermostat ground wire... probly not getting any fuel cuz of loose connection there causing the pump to work intermittently. less and less fuel being pumped = eventually ur car wil bog out and die. timing wont make it bog like that unless its wayyyyyy way off. ur car might be slower but i dot think it would bog like that. let me know if what i mentioned works.

he has a good point.but if u turn your key and u hear the relay click u should hear pump priming too.so the ground wouldnt be the prob.if the timing if off on the cam gears it will run like ***.all eles fails try resetting the cam gears see if that helps out.

 

I'm getting fuel, weither its enough i dont know, but i can here the pump prime and the relay click. but ill check the thermo ground because i just changed it a while ago. Nope its not throwing any codes.

 

lol hmmm... u have checked your alternator out right?? car bogged out... when u pulled over to check it out did u shut the car down, and then goto fire it up and it would turn over?? can u hear the car turning over.. like cranking? or is it just dead?

 

hey thanks for all the input i fixed it, my dizzy came loose and messed up my ignition timing. im getting a timing gun tonight to dial it in.

 

lol iwas gunna say its either timing or fuel, this happened to me once, it ended up being moisture insde my dizzy cap. wiped it with a rag, runs great ever since.
