Will I Rub If I Lower My Car?
hi im not much of a tire/wheel/suspension expert
but im planning on lowering my civic (cuz it looks like an SUV)
most springs ive found so far are 1.5" which im afraid may still not be low enough ( i dont know)
and any lower ive found is 2.5" whch im worried about rubbing.
but im sure would look hot
the wheels are R1 Drift 16"x 7" wheels with
Hankook Ventus HRII 205/40R/16 83H tires
and its a 93 EG Hatch.
my question is how low SHOULD i go without rubbing or having to roll fenders.
thanks!

does these look decent? or horrible?</TD></TR></TABLE>
I don't know dude. That is really cheap for a coilovers/shock combo. I only say that because with most auto products "you get what you pay for".
I've done the lowering springs once! Since then I have owned 2 sets of GC's, Omni Power Full coilovers, and Tein SS.

The lowered perches on Koni shocks are only for stock springs (not lowering springs), so they can only lower the car about 1.5".
As for the 205/40/16 rubbing, it's gonna be hit or miss at that height. I've been lowered -2.5" (or more) for about 6 years now, and I currently use have Dunlop FM901 205/40/16 tires that NEVER rub. On the other hand, I previously had BFG Euro TAs of the same size that would rub whenever I was turning hard & hit a bump. Even that wasn't a big deal, and it didn't effect the life of the tires at all. It's all gonna depend on the shoulder shape of the tire...
Just make sure to get an alignment (don't worry about camber kits though), and drive carefully. Learn the roads well so you don't do a lot of bottoming out. That's the key to keeping your shocks good...
