OBD2 emissions + tuning. Help
i have been debating on picking up either another ITR, an S2k or an FG2
but i need to know something before i settle on the ITR again (which is my top choice of the 3 cars)
i searched and didnt quite find the info i needed
Is there anyway to tune the ITR for an NA build (higher redline, different vtec engagement, blah blah)...without switching to OBD1?
i want to do a full NA ITR with cams, valves, pistons, injectors, I/H/E, the whole deal, but in NH we do OBD2 emission testing and if you have an OBD1 ecu in the car, it's an automatic FAIL.
And if i switch the ecu out for the OEM ecu each year, the car wont start, due to the larger injectors
when i had my JRSC-R i ran a P28 with uberdata and eventually said screw it and switched to a greddy e-manage, but the e-manage wont control vtec or redline
matt

I've thought about this alot because inspection is the same in NY. As far as I know, you will either need to swap injectors and put your stock ECU in (and then have to deal with other problems because of your timing and cams), tune using only a VAFC or similar piggy-back, or scam the inspection system- You can have your freind at the shop scan your registration then inspect a different integra with your ECU in it.
Its a shame no companies have developed tuning programs for OBD2. They're the norm with Subarus.
