can't get CD to eject
I have a kenwood excelon cd player and I cannot get the player to eject the cd. I have a feeling that it is broken because the previous owner left one of his CDs (gospel) in the player. So does anyone for me to try to get this cd out???
Thanks for the help.

Yeah that didn't help any.

You could take it apart, remove CD transport and and manually turn the eject motor, or even, [not recommended] disassemble transport so the disc can be removed

Is there any how to's on removing the cd transport? Or could you list some detailed steps for me? I don't know anything about cd player but with instructions I think I could figure it out.
Thanks

If your handy at all it will be obvious, open HU up, [remove top case cover] there will be 4 screws, [probably Philips, small, use the proper size screwdriver] in the 4 corners of the transport, they may be through a hole just big enough for the screwdriver espeacily the front 2, DO NOT force anything once mounting screws are removed CD pack assembly should lift out, on some HUs the assembly is directly "plugged in" to the circuit board and others are connected with a "ribbon cable" that is folded under the assembly and plugged into the circuit board, [look carefully at how the ribbon cable is plugged into the C/B, DO NOT force it, good luck.

Today I took the Cd player apart. I got the old CD out and have a new one in now but the eject still does not work. I noticed that there are 2 metal piece that are in front of where the cd's come out. I had to move these 2 pieces to get the old cd out and a new one in. Why are these 2 pieces get in the road? What else can I try so that I can hit the button to eject cd's instead of taking the player apart all the time??

If it's not ejecting cd's, it can be fixed by replacing the transport mechanism. There are generally no serviceable parts in the assembly, so service centers just replace the whole mechanism.
Depending on brand and model, this part can be ~$100.
You could look on http://www.partsstore.com and see if the transport assembly is available for your deck...

It's funny how they really don't work, either... I can't tell you how many units I've had to take apart because people have just jammed another cd in....

I guess I have a real manul cd player. haha. Once I get tired of a Cd the player will have to come apart and then I can put a new cd in. Someday I will replace it. Thanks for all the help.
edit: to get the new cd in I had to pull the 2 stoppers down to get it in. If that matter any.
