Default i installed a FPR

hey everyone, so i installed a B&M FPR and its really great, i put it to 50 psi...do you guys think thats too much?..too little?...so far i have ITR pistons, so just curious if its going to run rich...i was testing out the psi so i kinda redlined it and my friend was telling me that smoke was coming out of the exhaust, not shure but i think he said it was black smoke...what do you guys think?

i thought it was closer to 42...i never had mine above 40-42 though. 50 is way to high if youre just running ITR pistons.

ok so ive never installed a fpr regulator...so many people have told me different psi to run..and dont know who to believe, another thing is that i had to retard my timing a tad bit, because it has been pinging alot, so should i lower my psi or set it higher?..or does it even matter about the timing?...i have it now at 55 psi.

55 is Wayy too high, if all you have in that are ITR pistons,
you should still be able to do around 40 for your pressure.

Also, what octane are you running?

ok so this is the deal...sorry i have ctr pistons, by now the compression ratio is on the borderline with safe on 92-93 octane, it still pings, so i retarded the timing...so my question is if i should lower or upgrade the fuel pressure?....so 45 psi is good?

You need to stop messing around with the FPR, get it tuned with something like Hondata, Crome, Uberdata, etc. Setting the fuel pressure blindly is not a good idea.

Get a tune.

You cannot tell anything by how it feels.

Your injectors are tuned to allow a certain amount of fuel through turning up the fuel pressure isnt going to change that much you ethier need bigger injectors or a tune and more fuel with pistons being your only mod... i dont really think that would be necesary...

I am running 12.1 compression, You have to retard the timing, and I run 42-44 psi and it runs fine.

When I say retard the dizzy I am talking about timing, not my retarded wife. Hahaha.

No ,seriously retard the timing and you should be fine on 93 ocatane.

you really dont even need an adjustable fpr with stock injectors. Get a chipped ecu and run a different program if you are worried.

Oh that black smoke is all the unburned gas you are wasting going out the back of your car.

it think the pressure depends if you have a vacum connected or not.

i would tune it, later when your car runs like **** or blows your gonna wish you got it properly tuned.

you car will be faster, stronger, more reliable, and probably get more MPG.
