what was your 60ft time? a stock gsr should run in the 15s with a decent driver... also lowering when the vtec kicks in does not make your car go faster...

yes the rt-615's are extremely sticky tires but they were not designed to be used at the drag strip. the side walls are to stiff. gett something with a softwall, i know brigdestone makes some good drag/street tires....

I agree with you, but they are a good compromise between a streetable tire and good enough for the strip. Because it does seem that this is the OP daily as well. But they do have pretty crappy threadlife. And speaking from experience i do have a few buddies who use them on their DD and have a few drag runs and they do alright.

Not true.. Specially on F/I setups.. With F/I set up's many time's lowering your VTEC C/O Point you see significant gains.. But on a stock N/A your not going to gain anything worth while. Maybe if you had your VAFCII tuned you might see something, but you'd be better off buying a N2O kit for the price it would cost on the dyno w/tuning.

cheap hp...?
these words do not combine. your vtec isnt kicking in at 6k...thats just the secondarys opening up, vtec should kick in at 4400. so you ran 16's hmm honestly LS's should be doing that. i cant give you ideas on how to make your car go faster for a cheap price, but i am going to tell you that the quickest upgrade can be cams and ecu, but your thinking that good oil is going to make your car run quicker, your headed to a wrong direction, start by headers, and an IM, for a start, start looking into saving money, pistons, IM, cams, valvetrain, and ecu, will be a great setup for an N/A, good luck

Heres a list of small things you can do to get "cheap" hp.
-oils such as Royal Purple do help with friction and high temps
-"Wet Water" is an additive you put in your rad that helps keep your temp down
-intake
-exhaust
-header
-water methanol injection
-dyno tuning (you'll need those came gears you mentioned, and a tuning program)
-obd2 to obd1 conversion << highly recomend
-vafc/afc
-"NOS" lol works grwat till you blow your motor
-under pulleys couldnt hurt
-better tired (as mentioned
-traction bars
theres tons of stuff you can do, this is only some of it. thing is, non of it is really that cheap, it all ads up. my personal suggestion to you is stay simple (intake/exhaust/headers) if you dont wanna spend a lot of money. however, if you want huge hp gains, so spend some cash!!!!

Not to defend the NooB, but Kenny Tran's 1100whp (i think thats about the right HP? Correct me if I'm wrong) Drag Civic gained 40hp by changing from Royal Purple to Q. I don't really know how going from a good oil to a crap oil would do this (maybe his Q check's are bigger
) but he said so himself.
In the case of your stcok GSR though, don't count on oil as a performance upgrade with massive HP gains..lol
Not to be a dick, but it's not going to happen unless your car is a "Drag ONLY" car, thats HIGHLY HIGHLY modified and tuned to perfection. I mean "Tuned" to the point where you take in account for barometric pressure, altitude, tempature, humidity, wind speed ext.
Save your money and buy parts that will make a differance. Alot of people dislike N20, but it it's tuned right and you dont sqeeze everyday it can be just as reliable as and other Turbo or S/C setup. Just study up man, read read read and find out what's best for you.
I remember when I was getting into Honda's and I went into a shop for my first time the very first thing I saw was a sign that read:
"Speed cost's money...How fast do you wanna go?"
Remember that..

water wetter does add power but how much it adds depends on your set up. it helps add to the viscosity of the water which also helps in the lubrication of the entire water system. and i am pretty sure that is also exactly what royal purple does to oil but i have no checked that stuff out because i don't run synthetic oil. i know of several BIG deal drag cars that just run distilled water and like 4 bottles of water wetter in their radiators; no coolant.
sound's like you are the noob to me.

nitrous is your answer...get all your bolt ons and stay in the 15's...or get a wet/dry 75 shot and be in the mid to lower 14's...and NO nitrous doesnt blow up motors...stupid people blow up motors

lol ive seen that video also, geeze cant believe what people are actually doing just to sell there products, oh and an aem coldair intake adds 15 hp!!!...LOL, and they have dyno sheets to prove it..

I agree....nitrous doesnt blow up motors......if your stupid you blow motors.....I have a 96 LS with IM, TB, Injen Intake, DC 4-1 type R headers, walboro fuel pump, and i was running a 75 shot....at the track and ran a 14.4....but my 60' times suck...so im working on my driving skills also ive switched to a 100 shot since then and been running the 100 shot for about 6 months now...no problems at all......i plan on going to the track soon.. also i didnt have the headers or the throttle body when i ran the 14.4...so if i drive good i should be mid to high 13's....
basically cheap HP = N20....
