Yeah check your timing because it makes a huge difference. even by a tooth.

If his timing was off it wouldn't idle like normal. Just sounds like a normal B16 to me. They aren't lightning fast in stock form.

i understand that but its been balanced, ported, type r manifold, comptec headers, gears, cams, its brand new its been down the road and back and idle for 20 min. its something dont know what what could it be? put it this way it takes about 4to 6 sec to even hit 5k fron a rolling start thats bad. if anyone has any suggestions on what it is let me know thanks.

how is it when you rev it without in gear?

also i had my timing belt change on my car. and it idled fine but didnt have any power.
Then we brought it for some timing. payed 160$ and the car was faster then before the timing belt change. (its all about timing)

losing power is obviously a sympotom of something wrong or something thats about to be really wrong... i would check all your grund wires. when i had a loss of power my thermostat groud was loose which cause my fuel pump to work intermittently until one day it just stopped working. just go over everything and just make sure everything is nice and tight. sometimes the little **** makes a big difference

umm it its definity somthing in the motor the revs take a while to. no its not tuned got a skunk chip havent messed wit anyting else. the only thing it might be is my fuel filter the line that goes to the rail leak a little at the top of the filter. and ive redone the timing so its not that. the motor idles fine sounds fine just feels like theres alot of weight on the crank or its pulling 3000 pounds

try having a look at your throttle body with the intake tube off.....make sure it's rotating almost the full 45* when you mash the gas.
check the throttle cable too, make sure there's no slack....

maybe you built the engine REALLY tight....?

Lots of good advice.

Check the throttle and calibrate TPS.

Get tuned!

Did you build the bottom end?

are u serious?!?!?!?! you just spent all that time and money building your motor, and your going to throw it all away just cuz your not going to tune it...
skunk and any other preburned chip is going to be junk...doesnt matter the setup...
hate to break it to you,but you are in dire need of a tune...i can already see you are running the motor hard, and thats one of the worse things to do on an untuned motor...spend the money and get it tuned...or else you are going to be very sorry very soon..

ok well first your problem is the fact that its a b16. you seriously need to go get it tuned. that could be your problem. it also sounds like your timing is off. and no, i would not drive the car with that crankshaft seal out. thats a lot of oil to lose.

good luck, and remember. its just a b16. dont expect too much out of it

a b16 has alot of power compared to a hf dx or si, if you cant keep up to one then your engine is having problems, like everyone said check your timing first, grounds, maybe even your vacuum lines.... etc look over the small stuff
