if your gonna stay stock and want a cheap motor. A zc vtec is what you need.

hauls ***; torque kicks in at low rpms; vtec kicks in at top and your off. Best price for the best d series performance engine.

The dohc kicks in right about 4k. The sohc doesnt really kick at all, heh. It still pulls but I the dohc is noticably quicker up top.

the sohc non-vtec is really just a low miles d16a6 with a 4-2-1 exhaust, slightly ported intake manifold, and a slightly more top end cam. some of them have the better 92+ all metal and higher compression headgaskets.

the dohc is more.

the sohc vtec is to the d16z6 as the non-vtec is to the d16a6.

good luck.

Some other advice, to answer your previous questions, they are rated at 130HP for the DOHC, (not sure about whp tho), and you should swap out your ECU for a PM7, or just get a PM7 program chipped into the PM6.
