just got done putting a b16 in my friends crx the engine will start but wont rev past 3g like there is some sort of rev limit at 3g never ran into this before. checked all the basic stuff....could there be something seroiusly wrong? Any input would greatly help.

 

you are in limp mode. its really bad. either you unplug a necessary sensor or you computers bad

search "limp mode"

 

limp mode? so either the ecu what sensor maybe the harness? thanks alot..

 

And the CEL isnt throwing any codes....?..

 

try another ecu or see if the one u have has a chip in it

just got our hands on a new ecu..still the same problem..take back what i said about the cel codes we actually got a fualty ecu code and a cple others..put in new ecu only got code 21..still in limp mode i guess..checked the vaccum lines ok..im thinknig the dizzy is bad or maybe the map sensor any other input would help though..

 

the old ecu we took out was the pr3 and the new one we put in was a pw0 if that helps anything..

 

Sounds like your ignitor chip is bad and/or CAS

 

is there a code for the cas?

 

that sounds like your idle air control valve. i had the same problem and switched out that sensor and my car worked just fine.
