Default o2 sensor wiring

so yeah i wasnt thinking i just cut the o2 sensor wires... without thinking where they go on the plug... im trying to extend the wires because im using a d15 motor harness on a b16a...

my question is do the two black wires matter where they go or are they just grounds?
and how can i figure out where they go to connect them to the right black wire on the plug?

Get a Helm's Haynes or Chiltons and look at the color coordinated wiring schematics. That will be your best bet than having to rewire it 5 or 6 times.

acctually 2 of the 4 o2 wires are soldered correct right now... im not sure about the two black ones though...

would i have problems if i just connect them by hand and see which way it works better and then solder them that way?

I can't tell you for sure but I can tell you I made the same dumbass mistake and even after checking the helms it was not clear which was which... so I just took a guess based on where hte wires came out of the o2 and how they went into the harness...

It worked fine...

But I'm pretty sure it wouldn't run right if one was swapped...

Well no what I mean is the 4 wires come out of the actual o2 in a pattern....

See if the wires will line up to the corrosponding colors on the pigtail you have left...

If you only have the chassis side harness left you're kind of sol... since they change colors once they come out of that plug back to the ecu.

If you want to wait I will be working on my car tomorrow I can give you the alignment I have coming out of the sensor and which wires they connect to on the chassis side.

well here is a easy fix... connect the two wires any order just guess... connect ur battery and turn ur car on... if u throw a cel... change the wires around and reset ecu... fixed the problem for me
