how do i tap the tps sensor to check for voltage with my multimeter?

i have a b16a

the engine has to be off and throttle fully closed and the TPS connected. get a voltmeter and take the positive probe and connect it to the red/black wire and the other needs to be ground. this should bring a reading of 0.5 volts. once you have checked that slowly open the throttle and check the voltmeter it should increase gradually until you hit WOT when it should peak at 4.5 volts. if the readings are incorrect you would need to replace the TPS. which in most cases involves buying a new thottle body
