a lot of hastle and a lot of money.

AC requires:

Evaporator
Condensor
Compressor
Hardlines
A/C ready ECU
A/C ready climate control*
various other crap

Not sure what is all required for PS conversion other than the rack, line, and pump, but I imagine it's more.

*we tested this in my gf's car, a CX climate control with the AC blocked off will not turn the a/c on or off, even with the button put into place.

if you car was not fitted with ac and power steering, its gonna be an expensive venture, in thename of a couple 1000 bucks prolly, gotta get brackets, pumps, the condenser for ac, the hard lines for ac and power steering, the internal components for ac, like the chiller core, plus, for power steering, youll need the rack, with alone is like 200 bucsk used, new for around 400+ from the dealer, plus you gotta then deal wit hinstalling it all, which i will tell you in my 00 EX, is a pain, my rack started leaking, so I had to pull it all out, which if you look at where its at, it twists around the suframe, its a pain, and it will take lots of time and beer.

Very easy to install both on 96-00 civics. I have a 99 CX hatch and I have installed PS, A/C, & Power Windows/locks. I bought a smahed EX model civic. IF you have a donor car, very cheap/ easy to do the upgrade. A/C took about 1hr to install and PS about 1.5hrs (including an alignment).

Did it on my 96 CX hatch. Got a kit from Summit I think from a company out of Texas, took me maybe 5 hours to do the whole install aside from the compressor belt and charging. Total kit cost was 900 snaps and came with everthing and worked like a charm......then my car got stolen 3 weeks later and totalled out....lol, waited a year to get friggin AC in my car and as soon as I do it gets stolen and stripped....bastards didn't even take the brand new AC kit out of it either!!!!!!!!

The nice thing doing a kit in the 96+ civics is everything is already wired so you just pop in a few fuses, tap into the evap temp sensor connector, plug in the condensor and your good to go.
