Need help with CEL, please let me know soon
The Car: 00 Civic Si
The problem: CEL from secondary O2.
I had an aftermarket exhaust setup on the car with an aftermarket cat (pretty much burnt out/ hollowed out on its own *yay carsound*) and I ended up getting a CEL for a while.
Smog time came around (CA FTL) and I swapped back my exhaust setup to stock and now I am still getting the CEL despite resetting the ECU (disconnecting the negative terminal on the battery for more than 15 minutes).
Is it possible that there is 'carbon build up' on the secondary o2 sensor that is preventing it from getting an accurate reading? If so, how can it be cleaned?
What other reasons could case this?
The last smog check that I did, I simply swapped out the exhaust back to stock and reset the ECU and the CEL went away. Please advise.
