remember that the car must be level when filling the transmission to get the correct amount in, if you're letting it drip out the filler hole to determine when it's full.
If the front end of the car is raised on jackstands, it will start dripping out early and you won't get the full amount in there. I did that one time, then a few days later I realized what I did. I think I got nearly another 1/2 quart in there.
Now I always put my car on 4 jackstands when filling the transmission.

Just remember that even when its on 4 jack stands to make sure its level. Because i had the same problem, my driveway has a slight tilt to it therefore causeing me to put in a little bit less than what was recommended.

Mine was sitting on all 4 wheels on level ground (smooth concrete in my garage that is level). Could be I didnt drain it all the way, I was a little shocked because the honda manual says it will take 2.3qts on fluid changes and it never did (keep in mind I've changed the fluid probably 8 or so times so its not a one time glitch.
