Default Cruisers???

Who here has cruisers? I'm looking into getting something I can log some miles on and go on trips, etc. I have been looking at the Honda VTX's and the Yamaha RoadStar's, anyone have any insights into any of these bikes or have any recommendations. Not really looking at HD, too expensive.

I've been considering a second bike for awhile for the same reason. On my short list is the Honda Shadow and Suzuki Boulevard but I'm having trouble convincing myself I really need two bikes.

I'm pretty sure we've talked about this a couple times so you should see some decent discussion if you search. This is where everyone else tells you to get the Yamaha Midnight Warrior.

I had a Yamaha Virago 700 a few years ago. It was a good bike in town, but was kind of lacking on the highway.

Not really 'cause I still dig sportbikes and I actually really like my bike. What I think I may do is get a Ducati monoposto and a cruiser (when I eventually upgrade) so I can still do Sunday rides with the little lady.

sideways...

people usually called that xx8 (748, 998) and the up/down, which are god awful imo, is xx9 (749, 999). the xx8 are cheaper anyway 'cause they're older.

I've ridden a Shadow 750/1300. I personally hated the feel of them. If I were to get something for x-country travels, I'd get a sport tourer, i.e. VFR. I might even consider a BMW or....a Goldwing.

I can ride a gsxr 600 miles and be straight to ride the next day. Thats the furthest i've driven so far straight. I cant picture myself on a cruiser not one bit. Really i dont see the reason. I'd rather drive a civic or an element

Put a passenger on the back and carry a day or two worth change of clothes for each and see how you feel after that. I'm thinking something like this.

Exactly... passenger makes a huge difference. That and the fact that he's 21 and invincible also helps I'm sure.

Even on a 750/1100/1300/etc. cruiser bikes, the trip isn't going to be the most comfortable with a passenger and luggage. Yes, it'll be less harsh than a sportbike, but still.

Now, something like this, I could go all day on.

Doesn't matter how old you are. Comfort is comfort. I'm getting one with a back massager w/auto-happy ending.
