Default my hatch died on me in traffic. please helpp!

first, i would like to say, please excuse any bad typing, im on my phone right now.

Yesterday i was leaving my girlfriend's apartment and it was raining out. So as i'm leaving i turn on my windshield wipers. i notice the wipers are moving VERY slow so im thinking what the hell is goin on here.

I turn on the main road and about half way down the road my radio gets all quiet. so i look down and i notice my gagues are going crazy, the needles juming around. so i get the idea to turn off the car at the light and turn iit back on. well once i did that, the car wouldnt crank, it wouldnt even try to turn over.

i still get all my battery power, it just wont turn over. so i push to a parking lot and go over all my ground wires and i hit the starter with a screwdriver for a while incase it was stuck.

well i just barely got it to turn over. so i got back on the road but i had to drive with no gagues working and no electronics (clock, radio, lights, hazards, wipers, etc)

i pull in the garage and turn the car off and all my electical components turn back on.

HELP WHATs WRONG!?!

cliffnotes: car shut off in traffic, pushed it to a parking lot, finally got it to crank, had to rive home with no gagues or electrical components.

thanks,
jake

your alternator is bad, and took the battery with it.

Sure looks that way. Check the belt to the alternator first.

Might as well check the fuses and relays that may have gone bad due to that incident
