finally opened my Fully built b20 block to see if whats in there is really in there.. help?
so i purchased this car /w this motor "fully built" b20 block /w LS head.
ok so supposedly this is its specs:
•18B 1.8L Non-Vtec Head
- Port and Polished
• B20 Block
- Bored/Sleeved 84mm
- Sleeved by Golden Eagle
• JE Pistons 8.0:1 and Piston Rings @ only 6psi right now, block built for alot more boost
• Eagle Rods
so i take apart the head, and it dsnt look port and polished to me. looks like valves were burnt due to tuner making car run lean as hell, also spark plugs were white as hell and back of head intake manifold was leakin. also was hearing a noise coming from the motor and Bseries was tellin me it might of been a piston slap, but from lookin at it pistons look fine with the block. question is, is this block what it really is? i cant tell if its some JE pistons b/c i dont see the # or letters oem ones have so it might be? i can see it has something like a block guard by golden eagle? but not sleeved?? can someone tell me / clarify what exactly is in my block. here are some pics.
heres pic of head /w the burnt valves
and heres pic of my new motor from HMO.. omg never buyin a Jdm motor again.. alot more work then i thought to just put it in my car..
*EDIT here are pics of oil pan out. NO ROD KNOCK, NO METAL SHAVNIGS, NO PISTON SLAP, JE RODS, GUESS IT WAS THE HEAD THAT WAS MAKING THE NOISE

You are right about , the sleeve guard. You should probably take it apart. The pistons should have the markings underneath them. You would have to look under them to see what type they are. You should have asked the guy for some receipts, but then those can be faked. All in all take that bitch apart, and if it isn't what is supposed to be, take one of those pistons and crack him in the head with it.
so far so good
that is a sleeved golden eagle block with gonzilla sleeves and you do have some low compression forged pistons
that is a brace that only golden eagle uses with their gonzilla sleeves
you can tell if the block is sleeved because stock all the sleeves are 1 piece. and if a block is sleeves you can tell that there are seperate sleeves by the tiny spaces between the sleeves
and on stock sleeves you can see 2 material its iron on the inside of the sleeves but half way out its aluminum. sleeves blocks like the whole sleeve is iron

because the b20b and b18b have the same identical head.....
hey are you gona part out that b20 or what exactly is the deal with it?
its defitnatly sleeved. as stated above me you can tell because stock sleeves are made in two pieces which you can easily see and this is all one solid piece.
as for the pistons. the stock ones have stamps on top usually. and these ones go in a lil so you can see that they are lower compression.
as for the head being port and polished.... the pics arent very good cause the head is really dirty but from what i can see it doesnt look port and polished.... use simple green and engine bright to clean the head it works great.
