Default will a 92-95 tranny fit on my 98 civic ex?

i need a new tranny and i was wonderin if i could use a 92-95 civic tranny and what would be the best tranny to use on my d16y8? cuz i heard that the d16z6 was a good tranny......

your stock tranny is arguably the best d series tranny.
same gear ratios as the d16z6 but with steel shift forks.
but yes a 92-95 d series tranny will work with yours.

The advantages OF steel forks are that they're less likely to flat out break. The aluminum ones don't have much give before they snap; whereas the steel ones do.
