lx sedan exhaust
Since people seem to make a lx sedan exhasut would the ex model performance exhaust system form like greddy and skunk work just fine or does anybody know of a difference in the exhaust part of the EX an LX models and my car is a 2002 civic sedan LX 5spd.
Ok, considering I didnt understand anything you jst said, here is my gues as towhat you are asking.
You want to put an EX exhaust on your car, an 02 LX. Right???
The only differences are the header at the front of the car. The non-EX models have the cat converter bolted directly to the header. The EX does not. It has a simple 4 into 1 designed header. You will need a header and downpipe/catylitic converter combination off of an EX to convert over to that setup. I THINK you will also need to either extend the o2 sensor, since the ones on the EX's come after the cat converter. But I am not for certain.
The cat-back will be the same.

you can do a full EX exhaust setup from the header back, extend your o2 sensors and lose your front sway bar unless you buy an EX front sway bar. or buy the damn extension pipe. have fun.
save yourself money and buy a muffler and have a shop do a full custom catback. Our civics do not gain much from a full catback so why bother spending that much money and not getting much out of it.
i will agree here. i have an 01lx and did the ex swap. dc header, random tech cat pipe and evo2 exhasut cost me about a grand to do it. and the gains werent worth the money. go buy a dc5r muffler and have the piping replaced with 2.25" at a local muffler shop from the header/manifold back and youll spend about $300 total and have the same power gains

Did you change your front sway. I've heard mixed answers on if you have to or not.

yes you have to change the front sway and extend the front o2 about 12" i believe it was and the rear about 22-24". make sure when extending the wires to do one at a time. each o2 will have 3 wires. 2white and 1black. DO NOT MIX UP THE WHITE WIRES....so extend 1 wire at a time if needed to prevent mixing them up
yea i was just thinking of getting cutom 2.25 pipeing done with a gold polish n1 apexi muffler and a resinator. i just dont want to go threw all that extending wires and new sway bar and so on. just a simple $300-$350 exhaust system.
But i thank you for the info i just got my 2002 lx this tuesday and im loving it compared to my old car (1991 dx civic sedan) im just trying get an idea of everything .

look online for a type s muffler. they are quieter and should yeild the same gains. and should be found for pretty cheap. a member on 7thgen just ogt one on eagy for $60. then he had the piping done and it was like $100. it wont get any cheaper than that. i wish i had gone this route but i chose to do the swap hoping i would get more than i did. you wont have to do any extending of any wires and it should effect emissions at all being that the cat isnt replaced.
yea thats a pretty good idea. im not in the big show scene. and im not a fan of loud mufflers. but yea ill keep a look out for the type s muffler is there any tips thats some on them oh and do you have a link of liek a factory rsx muffler or something like that i cant find an rsx stock mufflers
