JB Weld - strong enough?
I'm installing a CF sunroof plug, and the instructions call for a couple brackets to be welded in. That's not something I can do at home. So, question for those who've used JB Weld or something similar - would it be strong enough? Anything I should know about before trying it?
I used JB Weld on mine and it has been fine for over a year so far--->https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1102799
Make sure you sand the **** out of the area so that it doesn not shine at all, and go out 3" on each side of the bracket. It's doesn't seem like it would work but it will.
Also check out http://www.lighterfaster.com...all their CF sunroof plugs call for JB Weld on the corner brackets.

Thanks for the tips! Yeah, I got one from lighterfaster, took forever and a half for them to produce it, but hey, I have it now. The directions for mine (5th gen) call for tack welding, but it sounds like JB should be aight.
I love JB Weld, but not for 'welding'. it makes a great metal bondo IMO.
If you're going ot use it, use the original kind. It's 2x stronger than the 'jb quick' that most people buy. It just takes a loooooong time to cure.
but damn..for the price of the JB weld you could drive to a shop and have that stuff tacked on for not much more. Have everything prepped and ready to go and they wont charge much.
