Default Transmission Question

Hi I recently bought a new clutch and flywheel for my 2004 civic Ex. I was trying to replace them but I can’t slide out the transmission (clearance issue). I have looked at the service manual and it states that you have to remove the front suspension subframe in order to slide the transmission out . Can anyone please confirm that or give me an alternative way for removal. Thanks.

no biggie dropping the subframe. You have to remove the front splash shield, break loose the ball joints, front mount and the rear mount. The ball joints will be the toughest though. Oh, make sure you have an engine hanger so the engine doesn't drop on your face.
