Default when do i start using higher grade fuel?

the title of the post pretty much says it but i was just wondering as your modding your car when is a good poit or at what point should i switch to a higher grade fuel or do i ever have to switch to higher grade fuel.

I think it has something to do with cr and your nternals but i wanna know so bump it..

Anytime your setup is prone to detonation such as with higher compression ratios or forced induction.

you can run lower octane fuel but it is harder to tune and you will lose optimun performance

anything from 10:1 to 12.5:1 I would run premium fuel

yes unless your car has a forced induction system such as a turbo, supercharger, or nitrous

once i put on the fully built head i didnt hesitate to use 91+ only.

so i should start using 91 once i put on my vtec head and cams or could i still run 87 safely.

yes it i highy recommend it. esp if your running vtec. 91 is the highest in san diego . but i know in other places you can get higher.

If you look at the GSR cluster it says "Premium Unleaded Fuel Only" so that is what you should use.

i used 91 octane all the time when i had my turbo daytona shelby, plus octane boosters

i use plus....any car my family owns has always used a high grade...i think its just better and cleaner, so why not, but gas prices suck! ...

Use regular for an LS. You will get better mileage and your car will be faster. Premium fuel is not necessary for an LS.
