Default 98 Civic Hatch ECU....

So as I was taking apart the hatch, I noticed the ECU had marker writing on it that said "97 Civic CX" but my hatch is a 98 DX. It has a DX motor, the registration says DX on it too. Luckily I had my old 97 Coupe DX ECU so I swapped them out.

Anyone know the differences between the two?

I thought both the CX and DX had Y7s?

same engines, same ECUs.

all though....
98 DX hatch - P2E-L32
98 CX hatch - P2E-L32

97 CX hatch - P2E-A03
97 DX hatch - P2E-A03

not sure what the differences are, based on all the other honda ECUs the L means cali-emissions, but not on 98+ ECUs.

will it matter that you have a A03 vs a L32? I seriously doubt it.

I'm a B-series guy, this is just my stock daily driver. But I still wonder what the difference could be, I mean why the change?

more than likely a small update to the settings or an emisssions update.
All though there is no real way to know for sure without contacts inside honda.
