Default 4th gen JDM Steering wheel (non-srs) on USDM 4th gen (srs) HELP!

first of all, i searched and found nothing..

ok so when i wrecked my car some months back it blew the airbag and i havent had one since. last week i see a JDM BB4 steering wheel with no airbag and think damn thats cheap and looks pretty cool and its leather wrapped. so i bid on it not expecting to win and i do and it shows up to my doorstep yesterday. needless to say i have a problem where i have to install something as soon as it comes regardless of what my girlfriend wants to do lol.

anyway i take my old wheel off and go to fit the new one on, and it doesnt match up. i was stumped. its like the back is longer than the usdm one or something. i actually had to take the SRS swivel thing with the wires for horn and cruise control off just to get the wheel far enough back on the column to fit the nut back on. so now ihave no horn and no cruise control.

my main question is, is there any way i can get this thing on here and still keep the cruise control and horn? can i go out and find someone with a JDM RHD conversion and steal that cylinder that holds the cruise and horn? or am i going to have to do some major modding to get it right?

please help!

well the answer lies in your post dude, you need to get the jdm spool, and wire that to work......not gonna be easy to track down, but the wiring should be simple

I have the same problem. I narrowed it down to either waiting untill i get a h22 swap with that kind of stering wheel, or just asking an importer of front clips that takes off the steering wheel to leave that portion for me and i will buy it from them. either way its just more money to put down on this wheel. The people that sell em on ebay don't think about how to install them they just think about what jdm stuff they can get money for. really cool looking steering wheel but worthless right now.

exactly they should really research what theyre selling, but then again its just money in their pockets for our sweat and tears.

i actually have the wheel on right now (w/o cruise and horn) and i must say its very nice to drive with. the leather wrapping is so comfy. im supposed to meet up with a kid this weekend who has a RHD conversion for a 4th gen and im going to see if i can lowball him enough to get it from him and use those parts.

keep in mind that the spool probably isnt going to just wire right up, make sure to get the connector and about 2" of wire from the dash harness, that way you can plug it up and solder your own connections.....
