edit your post before anyone else sees it...i could swear a GSR and a TYPE R came with a b18 and the 2nd gen GSR came with a B17...

yea tha b17 is a old skoo 1.7 liter gsr and a b18 does come in type r n 1.8 liter gsr's....you say the cams are interchangeable....does that go for most parts to...such as intake manifold...intake...axles?

B18A and B18B do NOT come with VTEC.
B17, B16, B18C all have VTEC.

intake manifolds you cant swap unless it a b16 and a type-r they can swap

The B16(A1,A2,A3, B), B17A1 and the B18C5 (jdm B18C) all run a B16 head, thus all those intake manifolds will interchange. Some things like axles will be car specific, being that they vary from chassis to chassis, not motor to motor.

yah.. i believe the only B-series vtec IM that isn't interchangeable is the GSR - its an oddball

Oops yea I was thinking of B18b... for some reason if someone says B18 I always assume they mean B18b because calling a B18c1 or B18c5 just a B18 seems kinda weird to me... 
So what I meant is,
