Default Dual valve springs...too tight?

It has been awhile since I have posted...but......here it goes. I installed dual valve springs...very strong...however...it looks like the springs were sooo tight because the teeth on a new timing belt came off completely...so did I miss something somewhere? WHY DID THIS HAPPEN?

does anyone know anything about this.....or is this a "dumb" question that no one wants to answer......keep this in mind...NOT EVERYONE KNOWS EVERYTHING! A little help would be nice...even if it is another website or some archived thread that I missed

are you sure you installed everything correctly, did the motor ever turn on or did it just shear the belt

dual valvesprings are certainly stiffer than stock ones, but they most certainly shouldnt shear a belt like that....

Yes the engine ran for about 35 minutes on the highway this is after 30 minutes of running the engine after everything was put back together....I admit I went hard on it....I am not so sure that is why it tore the teeth off of the belt or what but they are off......also one of my valves broke off...as for the installation it was installed by a ASE certified mechanic with 30 years of experience. So I trust his expertise....I did not have the time to do it myself...oddly enough this is the only thing I did not do myself...because the mechanic did my port and polish.

I'm guessing you have new cams to go with the new springs? It could be coil bind. It could be a cam to cam journal clearance problem. It could be a jammed water pump. It could be a problem with the cam gears or tensioning set up. It could be that a piston hit a valve and stopped the cam (and the crank timing gear kept going...).

Springs alone should not shear teeth off a belt; something went wrong.

yeah i think the problem happened when that valve f'ed up, it probably stopped the cam and that sheared the teeth....

Th water pump was new....I replaced it when I put the valves and the port and polish job....I will check the status of it now...I did not put new cams in...the cams I was going to put in were damaged......the journals were scored.
