battery voltage
alright, new alternator and charged battery.
voltage with the car off and with the car running is the same at 12.4 volts
is this normal. shouldn't the voltage with the car running be at like 14 volts?

im using a multimeter at the battery. its an old battery, so might that be the problem?

test from the + cable, if you're just putting the meter on the battery terminals itself I don't think it would read any higher than 12.*v
you sure you put everything back on correctly? plug for the alternator,+ wire going to batt. alt. belt
Just gotta go through everything again sometimes 1 minor thing gets overlooked
where did you get the alternator from? try testing it while someone revs the motor up a bit, sometimes they won't read 14.*v at idle
