i honestly have the worst luck, i just bought my boys 93 prelude with a 01 h22 engine dropped in, barely hittin 75k ,and lastnight within having the car for 3 hours sometin happened, i recentley got into cars, and i want to learn alot, thats why im here. but anywayz, i was driving the car, not beating on it at all. so i was in 3rd, and driving then my car like bogged out real quick and it seriously felt like i was then driving in 5th but doing about 10mph. so i pulled over real quick, then smelled a quick sulfer kinda smell. then my car wouldn't start, even after letting it sit for a while. and now i know we checked the distributor and it puts out no spark what so ever. but im wondering if that cause this problem, i have gas in the car,and u can tell it wants to start. so i'm praying thats all i need. please any suggestions or ideas?

 

well if its not getting spark, then you likely have a coil problem considering the coil is what gives the distributer fire.

 

Yeh, start with the coil and work your way through the ignition system.

check the rotor inside the distributor cap also. the center of my old one spun out, and therefore would still make contact, but not enough to get it to start. Plus its cheaper than a new coil.
