good luck on finding replacements, everyone says you'd have to go to japan for them, well if all you need are synchros theres been rumors that the s1 can use the usdm s1 90-91 ls tranny synchros, and the y1 can use some d-series synchros from an s20 tranny. But i'm not sure since i haven't had to replace my synchros yet, but if you wanna give those a try let me know how they work for you.

Hmm I've heard that in most cases it's simply cheaper and easie to get a new tranny It sucks, but at least you won't have the hassle.

I have the part # for the complete synchro rebuild kit from Honda Japan.. to get the whole kit its about 35000 Yen or about 300$ So I don't know how much a used J1/S1/Y1 goes for in the states ...??? but I'd be willing to bet that half of the tranny's out there are Jacked when you buy them...As for me I would buy the rebuild kit..
I will be more than willing to help you all out .but I'm out on the Boat (CV-63) right now But I'll be back on the 5th of June so please e-mail me then for more info

Yeah i'm pretty sure you can't find the rebuild kit. But you can try what i said if you got the time and money!! But i say go for a real rebuild kit, jdm dohc sir what's the part number for the s1??? Also becuz when you buy a used tranny you never know how trashed it can be and you might just waste more money on buying a fucked tranny.

I have always heard that 1990-1991 USDM Integra synchros will work.

Whoa! This is a beautiful thing to hear! I was wary about buying a "new" 10+yr old tranny...

Can someone let me know what other costs (parts or labor) would be involved with a rebuild of my cable S1 trans? Does the rebuild "kit" have all parts, or is there extras I'd have to pick up that are j-spec only, too?

I'm basically looking for total cost involved with having a "new" S1 trans in my car, parts and labor, cuz I don't think i'd personally go monkeying around w/the tranny myself. Let someone who's done it before do that.

While we're on the subject, any GOOD lsd options for this trans other than quaife? What is that, like $8-900?? I guess that's the best, but if I can rebuild the tranny, and drop in a lightened flywheel all for the cost of a quaife lsd minus labor, then I think my path is clear. BTW, what would be the cost involved with a limited slip install ?

Thanks for your time, and JDM_DOHC_SiR, all us S1 drivers here in the states owe u one! I know you've made my day sharing this little bit of overseas information
