Default Trustworthy mechanics in SoCal?

Im moving down to California in a month, and I'm about to need a valve adjustment. I've also heard that most mechanics down there are notoriously shady. Anyone come highly recommended?
Oh, and whats all this about the infiniti G35? I just checked it out...nothing terribly impressive 260 horses powering a boat for $30,000. Big deal.

G35 is a great car. Test drive it and you'll see what i mean. It feel pretty fast for an auto. 260hp is pretty good but pair that up w/ 260ft-lb of tq makes it great. Also, you can't beat RWD w/ near 50/50 weight distribution.

It might be hard at first, but if you buy yourself a helms manual, valve-adjustment tool set, and some tools, you'll be able to do most of the maintenance yourself.

In the long run, it'll save you alot of money and prevent yourself from getting raped by dealerships as well as get to know your car better.

As for the trustworthy mechanics in Socal, I'd like to know too.

I want a real skyline or nothing I prefer the look of the IS300/Altezza over the g35 anyway.
