trouble wiring turn signals
Ok this is stupid, but I can't figure it out.
Went to wire up some new LED turn signals up front (I didnt have any turn signals up front from a wreck years ago)
So the LEDS have 2 wires from them, presuming ground and hot wire.
Well I found the turn signal clips. 1 clip has 2 wires, the other clip has 1 wire. Cut the clips off to hardwire them to the LED's. Well the ground wire from the bike was in the clip that had 2 wires. Hooked that up to the LED. Then hooked the other wire from the LED to the extra wire from the 2 clip one. The light works as a running light but as soon as you turn the blinker on it turns off. So I kept the ground but unhooked the one wire and hooked it up to the the wire from the other clip (the single wire) same thing, works as a running light but not turn signal. So I hooked the ground and both those wires up and same thing; running light but no turn. And obviously if I hooked the ground to the other wire on the LED nothing happens
Neone can u help me out?
Thanks,
Mike

I'd advise you to find a wiring diagram from the switch to the bulbs online and go from there. I don't have the same bike as you do so I can't look. Hope that helps.

The turn signal wires are probably alternating (reading a positive and a negative alternately, which means that if the other wire to the bulb is showing a positive, whenever the turn signal wire flashes off, it's reading a ground and letting the other wire light the bulb) and the ground wire is probably only used for running lights. Have you tried hooking up the positive running light and the positive turn signal wires only?
