Default BKR6ES-11 vs. bkr7es-11

running jdm b18c-r

anyways, i went to pepboys before and bought 98 itr copper plugs which were the BKR6ES-11

i was told this is causing me to not burn all of the fuel and losing power

i checked ngk website and their 01 itr copper were the BKR7ES-11. i think this is the plugs i should have been running all along.

will running the 6 cause problems instead of running the 7 on my jdm r?

The BKR7E-11 is one heat range cooler than the BKR6E-11.

I've been running BKR7E-11's back when I was 1.8 and now that I am 2.0 as well. Great plugs for the money.

I don't know what the S stands for in those part #'s, never heard of that specific plug.

Use which ever, they will both perform almost identical.

" NGK Double Platinum 2380 PFR7G11 $11.71 "

from ngk.com

it shouldn't cause a problem untill you have massive upgrades. however, since the motor did come with the 7 heat range(1 step cooler from 6)... its best if you just stick back to the 7 heat range.

you'll know your plug is too hot when you start to misfire and such(especially if you have msd or any other high output ign)

------------------------------------------------------

the one you should get is the bkr7e11 <--notice how it doesn't have the s in it... meaning it is not a standard electrode. the bkr7e11 has a v grove(v power) as compared to a bkr7es11(s for standard)

-------------------------------------------------------

there's a whole lot more that i can break down for you about ngk plugs... but for know, i think this is sufficient.
