Default There must be SOME kind of hope for my Auto LX civic sedan?

It is unbelievable how many people try and race me now that IM driving a civic. I cant go anywhere w/out someone pulling up to me at a light and revving. Its just shitty when I have to slowly pull away while they peel past me..

What can I do to give my car a lil more go? Im not saying I want to be SI-competitive, cuz I dont have the money to swap engines and that kinda stuff, nor the desire. I just want a little more oomph when I go.

Also, I was wondering how much a tranny swap would cost? Is it expensive to pay a mechanic to swap ina manual in an auto-car? And will it look right in the civic?

Thanks for any responses guys.

*Edit- I also dont want to risk my warranty, so I wont be doing any modding that could compromise it.

i dont think there is much hope for you your car weigh's more then a civic coupe of the same model plus it's a sedan you dont really see too many aftermarket upgrades for them. Yes you can swap your tranny but it would look silly plus it is very pricey you are better off selling your car and buying a civic with a VTEC option then going from there you can add i/e/h plus maybe a turbo or supercharger down the line. Until then you cant compete or make your car much faster then what is is now try to enjoy it for what it is just make a smarter choice down the road when you want performance.

Is 35lbs of difference really that earth shattering? Also, why would a tranny sawp look silly?

Thanks for the comment btw.

Any extra weight hurt's 35 pounds isnt earth shattering but its enough to make a difference plus when i said swapping your tranny would look silly. It was because you have a automatic equipped sedan if you go through all the trouble to swap it for a manual tranny that would make you look silly its not worth it lol just sell it then buy what you really want.

you should roll down your window and laugh at them next time... I drive an SI and no one ever revs at me... WTF is that, they only rev at cars they KNOW they can beat, not ones they dont know anything about. So next time, point, laugh, hell even throw a pie or something.

How are you driving? I just can't see people constantly trying to challenge you unless you are pissing them off in some way. Such as driving at high speeds past them, stopping on your gas at a light or to pass someone.

I agree. Don't race, if they are challenging a weak car, they probably have low self esteem because an Si just kicked their ***. Redeeming their dignity or something.

hold down the brake and push on the gas and when the light turns green release the brake and floor it. or just come to terms that you dont have a race car, or even a sports car, and just laugh at them. cuz street racing is stupid and who ever is trying to race a civic sedan is a dumbass to begin with.

Actually, according to kbb.com, civic lx coupe is 2654 lbs. and the sedan 2513 lbs. ...can that be right?

dude its not even worth modding it man.

im telling you know before you waste money on an intake or an exhaust.

i bought a cai for my car from AEM and it sounds great and all but if i had an automatic sedan i would just get some 18 inch rims, tint, get a system and just cruise man, get a couple girls up in there man and have fun, you bought the wrong car if you wanted speed.

when they rev, you turn up the bass and let em hear something

Don't get affected by these street racers. Your car is not designed for high speed and acceleration. It is dsigned for comfort and easy driving. If you want a fast car SELL IT AND GET A M/T civic. Swapping tranny at this stage is not practical IMHO and it will void your warranty.

When ever I see drivers like those, I just let them speed away from me and cruise at my phase. I drive an a/t too. Those street racers look silly revving alone and speeding across stop lights...

That's exactly what I'm doing with mine. Rim it up, throw in some boomin sound and cruise for ho's. Want a racer, should have ponied up the extra 4k for the SI.
I'm sort of wishin' I did the same
