Well i was just going to start my car. Car started fine i go to press in the clutch and it went stright to the floor.. i was like alright so i lifed it back up and it did it again. I have a 92 civic cx with a H22a1 with a H23 transwith a stage 3 clutch. I pretty much just got the car and i found out like maybe a month or so ago i was driving with out any fluid in my clutch cyclinder. So i go to fill it then like a week i check it and its gone. Then like 4 days after this happened.Please someone help me out thanks alot.

 

By what youre saying, it sounds like you have a leak somewhere. Check the master and slave cylinders, as well as the line input at the transmission for leakage. probably just some blown seals. Should not be a big thing.

 

but how could i have been driving w/o fluid for so long then all of a sudden it goes to the floor?

sounds like to me the slave cylinder is shot.

 

defenitly. replace the master cylinder and slave cylinder. Don't just replace one with out the other. Bleed the lines like you would a brake system. Having some pump the pedal or using a vacula if you have access to a compressor.

 

Check where the master cylinder comes into the cabin through the firewall too, that's where mine was leaking and is a common spot. You can replace either the master cylinder or the slave cylinder seperately, both don't have to be changed at the same time.

 

how do i know which one to replace? just by which on is leaking?

 

Yeah, just figure out which one is leaking and replace it. It could also be a line leaking so check them as well. The line leaking is not as likely though, as most of it is hardline.

 

with the cost of a slave cylinder at about $15, i dont see any reason why not replace it at the time of replacing the master cylinder? A new m/c is about $35 from sanyco or coni-seal. I replaced both of mine at the same time since it was 'cheap' insurance' to eliminate both variables with one stone.

what sites did u get the slave and master cyclinder from?

 

btw: when you bleed the clutch line dont "pump" it, slowly depress and b4 it get the the floor tighten the bleeder valve. repeat many many times.
dont let it get to the floor with the bleeder valve open, or you start over again. i bled mine 2 days ago.

wasn't implying to continue to pump the pedal. Just down once and it will stick to the floor the first few times, then open the screw then back up then down open repeat repeat repeat till all the air is out. Just trying to tell him its kinda the same conecpt as far as bleeding to get your clutch pedal back.

 

so if there is nothing leaking then what could be wrong? i havnt looked at my car yet since its at my friends house

 

just look at it first.

http://www.autohausaz.com they have the sanyco; sanyco manufactures many new hydraulic parts (brake m/c, clutch m/c slave cylinder wheel cylinders, they even make the hydraulics for stoptech) to many OE japanese companies. http://www.stopshopanddrive.com carries the same stuff, slightly different prices.

 

Not to highjack this thread, but i have the same problem. No pressure in my clutch, could this cause the clutch to slip?

 

nice to know im not the only one right now with this problem and also before this happened i was having troble putting it into gear

 

somebody mentioned that i could have broke my clutch cable? could this be why i have no pressure? and how hard is it to change?

 

hydraulic clutch systems don't use cables.
